DIDACTIC LECTURES

From dermatologists to eminent psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and pharmacologists; the sui generis ensemble of experienced faculty and experts with years of having been practicing the art of psychodermatology shall cover highly informative, illustrious and interactive lectures in the pre-lunch sessions. The topics dwelled upon shall include the basic concepts of Mind-Body-Skin or Psychosomatic Dermatology with crystallizing snippets on optimizing the therapeutic outcome of patients with a psychological realm to their skin/hair disorder. Handling a “difficult” patient shall not be that difficult after attending this first-of-its-kind Conclave!

INTERACTIVE PANEL DISCUSSION WITH EXPERTS

The burning question in PSYCHODERMATOLOGY is embarking upon the perfect balance of therapy by addressing the skin-related psychological morbidity of the patient. Whether the dermatologist should manage such patients independently or seek the help of a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist! And most importantly, to know
WHEN, and HOW to refer the patient to the Mental Health specialist………….

ZAZEN derm_logo

“Zazen”, an ancient sacred word from Zen Buddhism, symbolized differently in traditional Japanese and Chinese script literally means “Sitting Meditation”. What could be a better non-academic treat for the attending faculty and delegates of the Psychodermatology Conclave, than to make them experience the power of meditation, the best and strongest source of relaxation; not just for the peace of our own minds, but to extend that non-pharmacological intervention of ‘anti-anxiety’ and ’stress-relief’ to our anxious and distressed patients.
